Srinagar: Life returned to normal in Kangan in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal after remaining crippled for about six days due to restrictions imposed by authorities and strike against civilian and militant killings in security force action.
However, business and other activities remained affected due to strike and restrictions since last about a week in Shopian and Pulwama in south Kashmir, where four civilians died and 40 others were injured in security force action and 13 militants were killed in three separate encounters on April 1. Three Army soldiers were also martyred during the encounters.
Shops and business establishments, which remained open on Sundays, reopened and traffic was plying normal on all roads in Kangan, where restrictions were imposed since Friday to stop protests against killing of a youth in the area on Monday in security force action.
Even though restrictions have been lifted in south Kashmir’s Pulwama, business and other activities remained crippled due to a strike against civilian and militant killings on Sunday.
Life also remained crippled since Sunday in Shopian, where shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads. Additional security forces remained deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
