Pulwam: Thousands of people Saturday attended the funeral prayers of slain local Hizb militant in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Eyewitnesses said that a couple of militants appeared at the funeral site of their slain associate Musavir Hasan Wani and offered gun salute to him.
Musavir, a B-Tech student was killed yesterday during a gunfight with Indian Forces at Kangan village of Pulwama district.
Thousands of people participated in his last rites. Resident of Dalipora Pulwama, Musavir had joined Hizbul Mujhadeen outfit in July 2017 last year.
Eyewitnesses said that as his funeral prayers was underway at Industrial Estate of the town, three of his militant associates emerged their and offered gun salute to him.
Witnesses added that they fired couple of rounds in air while thousands of people assembled their chanted pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Musavir was buried at historical Shaheed Park Pulwama.
Reports said that at least 10 protesters were injured in the intense clashes that erupted in the town after the burial of the slain Hizb militant.
Forces used sound shells and tear-smoke canisters to disperse the agitated youth. The clashes broke out amid severe restrictions and complete shutdown.
