Srinagar: Locals on Friday recovered the headless body of a youth abducted by gunmen late last Wednesday night from his home in Bonkhan Mohalla of Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.Meanwhile Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in a statement issued here on Friday has condemned the act,
A police official said that the body of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat (25), son of Abdul Gaffar Bhat, was found headless at an orchard falling in Bonmohalla Hajin.
Police on Thursday said that militants barged into the house of Abdul Gaffar Bhat in north Kashmir’s Hajin and beat the inmates and abducted Gaffar and his son Manzoor Ahmad Bhat.
However, Abdul Gaffar was successful to escape from them in spite of being fired upon his belly and injured with knives, police stated.
His father was also injured during the incident and is battling for his life at Srinagar hospital.
Earlier suspected militants had abducted one Muntazir Ahmed from Parmohalla Hajin whose body was also recovered next day in an orchard.
Meanwhile Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has strongly condemned the beheading of a youth of Hajin in Bandipora district who was abducted during Wednesday night.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said the inhuman way in which the youth was done to death is againstthe social ethos and cultural value system of people of the State.
The Chief Minister has conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family.
