Islamabad/April,6: Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed today across Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) against the recent spate of killings in Kashmir, a media report said on Friday.

According to a report in Geo News rallies, functions and walks would be held in different parts of the country and around the globe by Pakistanis and Kashmiris living there to “expose Indian atrocities” and highlight the need for peaceful resolution of the long-standing dispute.

A resolution to this effect was adopted in a special meeting of the federal cabinet held in Islamabad on April 2 with Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair.

In Pakistan admisntred Kashmir, main rally will be taken out in Muzaffarabad, whereas similar rallies will be taken out from the deputy commissioners offices in Neelum, Jhelum Valley, Bagh, Rawalakot, Haveli, Kotli and other districts, the TV report said.

On last Sunday 20 people were killed—13 militants, four civilians and three Indian army men—in three separate gunfights in south Kashmir. Another civilian was killed when police fired pellets ata youth in central Kashmir’s Kangan district on Tuesday.  So far 0oer 200 civilians were injured in clashes with government forces across Kashmir.

The Pakistani cabinet has strongly condemned the killings in Kashmir “discriminatory use of force by the Indian forces.”

The cabinet also decided to send special envoys to selected capitals to highlight the deteriorating situation in Kashmir.
