Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprised of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik on Thursday has called upon people to hold protests tomorrow (Friday) against the recent killings in Kashmir.
The spokesman in a joint statement said that JRL has called for protests against the killings in South Kashmir’s Shopian, Islamabad and Ganderbal’s Kangan area.
On April 1, 13 militants and four civilians were killed by government forces in south Kashmir, while another civilian Gowher Ahmed of Ganderbal’s Kangan area was also killed in forces action.
The leadership said that people of Kashmir are offering priceless sacrifices on all fronts, life honour property whereas the rulers have thrown all principles of democracy and humanity to the winds and are busy crushing the people’s movement for asserting their fundamental right
The leaders urged the international community to pitch in at this crucial time and to play their part in stopping the ongoing bloodshed in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has announced to address people at Hamza Masjid, Lal Chowk before Friday prayers.
