Srinagar/April,2: The students of Kashmir University Monday offered funeral prayers in absentia for militants and civilians killed in lSourh Kashmit gunfights and post gunfight clashez respectively last Sunday.
Repirrs said the students marchrd from Zakura hostel, M.A hostel and M.A.K hostel to convocation complex and amid protests and pro-freedom slogans offered funeral prayers in absentia for the slain militants and civilians.
Eye witnesses said though police deployed inside the campus tried to disperse the students but failed to do so due to the resistance offered by the angered students. “Funeral prayers in absentia were offered as the students reached outside the convocation complex where 13th J&K Science Congress 2018 is underway”,said the witnessed. Governor N N Vohra is also present at the university convocation.
Witnesses said the female boarders of all girls’ hostels also held protests against civilian and militant killings.
