Srinagar: Mughal road was on Saturday opened for one-way traffic as authorities allowed seven vehicles to move towards Kashmir valley from Bafliaz area of Poonch district.
The decision of opening the road was taken two days back after Mughal Road Project authorities completed first phase of snow clearance, restoring the road for one-way traffic.
A fleet of seven light vehicles with 46 passengers was allowed towards Kashmir side from Bufliaz at 9:30 am and more vehicles are now reaching Bufliaz for the journey on the road that connects Poonch district with Shopian in south Kashmir.
The road was closed for traffic four months back due to accumulation of snow and slippers conditions on the highway.
