Wrestling championship on pattern of WWE from May 4

Srinagar: First time in the history of the state, a wrestling championship on the pattern of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) would be organised from May 4 at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Stadium.

It was informed in a press conference  by President Tong il Modoo Federation of India Sudhir Kumar Malik, General Secretary Tong il Modoo Federation of India Satish Kumar Choudhary, Chairman Freak Fight Wrestling (FFW) Sachin Advanshi, General Secretary J&K Tong il Modoo Association Syed Zubair Shah, Patron J&K Tong il Modoo Association Tariq Rashid Ghani and Wrestlers Aad Vanshi and  Rocco.

While speaking about the promotion and development of “Tong il Moodo and Freak Fight Wrestling,” the organisers said it will be first ever event of live wrestling to be held in the Kashmir valley. They further stated that students from various schools of the valley will be participating in the Korean Marshall Art Tong il Moodo Competition associated with J&K Tong il Modoo Association.

They further informed that Freak Fight Wrestling is a free style wrestling like WWE fight viewed mostly on TV, but now people of valley will be able to witness the fight live from May 04, 2018.

A total of 30 wrestlers across the country will participate in this event. Male and Female category fights will be held in which four rounds will be played in Freak Fight Wrestling, which are Tagtee-4, table-ladder chair, over the top illumination and last man stand rounds. Kicks, Punchs, Ladders and table breaking will be used in this free style wrestling. One Wrestler from Jammu, name Baali will take part in this event who is 7 feet, 10 inches.

In addition to this, President and General Secretary Tong il Modoo Federation of India said complete support and encouragement would be provided to the youth of J&K which are interested in the games like Wrestling and Tong il Modoo.
