All the DC’s gave a detailed presentation about the quantity of polythene seized, steps taken to curb its use and the progress achieved so far. The meeting was informed that more than 30 quintals of polythene has been seized during the last two months at various places. The Div Com directed the officials to take tough action against the defaulters.

The DC Ganderbal said the district administration has designed special biodegradable bags that will be given to traders starting from Sonamarg. He said they are also preparing to buy shredders to curb the menace of plastic bottles.
