Jammu: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh Wednesday said the government is committed to ensure timely implementation  of the Power For All initiative  taken up  by Prime Minister

The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking after launching the initiative of providing power to 53 un-electrified villages of five districts covering Kishtwar, Kupwara, Bandipora, Leh and Kargil in the Off Grid Mode from Kishtwar Wednesday

Commissioner/ Secretary Power Development Department, Hridesh Kumar, MD JKPDC Shah Faisal, Deputy Commissioner Kisthwar and other senior officers of Administration, Air force and Army were present on the occasion.

The initiative is being implemented by Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation in collaboration with IIT Madras. Services of the Indian Air force have also been used for air lifting the Solar panels from Chandigarh to the remote areas of the Kishtwar district which are being electrified.

The villages are being provided with solar panels, inverters, battery and six LED bulbs for each house hold and the whole set up is in the convertible module.

Dr Singh while directing the officers to ensure that the time lines set for every project are strictly adhered to, said they should synergize their efforts in order to ensure that schemes are completed in a time bound manner and people get benefitted. He said regular monitoring should also be done in order to assess the implementation of the schemes on the ground level.
