Jammu: Two persons were killed and four others seriously injured in a road accident in Thatri area of soda district on Tuesday on Tuesday .
Reports said that the taxi (bearing registration number JK06 7732) was heading to Thathri when it met with an accident on Thathri-Gandoh road near Khanpura, 55 km from Doda town.
The vehicle carrying six persons skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge, resulting into death of two and injuries to four others.
Additional superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Bhadarwah, Rajinder Singh said that locals along with the police immediately reached at the spot and shifted the injured to Trauma Hospital Thathri, where doctors declared two of them as brought dead.
“The injured were taken to district hospital Doda where from two of the seriously injured were shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment,” he said.
The deceased were identified as Nissar Ahmed (37), son of Barkat Ali and Fata Begum (60), wife of Saif Din, resident of Khanpura.
The injured were identified as Noor Din (50), son of Jamal Din; Shamim Ahmed (20), son of Noor Din; Misra Begum (45), wife of Abdul Latief and Khalid Hussain (14), son of Abdul Latief — all residents of Khanpura, Thathri.
Police has registered a case vide FIR No 23/2018 under section 279/337 /304-A RPC and started the investigation, said an official.
