SDMs to work as addl DCs in Nowshera, Sunderbani, Kalakote

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday said that sub-divisional magistrates in Nowshera, Kalakote and Sunderbani will hold the posts of additional deputy commissioners until regular arrangements are made.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the upgradation of the posts of SDM Nowshera and SDM Sunderbandi as Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sunderbandi,” said an order issued by the General Administration Department.
The present incumbents holding the posts of Sub Divisional Magistrates at these places, according to the order, shall hold the charge of the posts of Additional Deputy Commissioners, Nowshera, and Sunderbani till regular arrangements are made.
In a separate order, the government upgraded the post of sub-divisional magistrate Kalakote as the additional deputy commissioner.
The order follows the agitation launched by the people in these areas to demand district status.
