Srinagar:A complete shutdown against the killing of two militants in Blhama area in the outskirts of Srinagar Thursday night this week is being observed in Tral and Awantipora area of South Kashmir Saturday.
Rasiq Nabi Bhat (21) alias (Owais Ahmad) of Nowdal Tral and his associate Shabir Ahmad Dar (23) of Aghanzipora Awantipora were killed in the gunfight at Balhama-Khonmoh on Thursday night. Both were associated with Zakir Musa led Ansar Ghazwatul Hind militant outfit.
All shops, business establishments, government and private offices remained closed in these areas while public transport was off the roads.
People from adjoining areas thronged the residences of slain militants to express sympathy and solidarity with them.
Contingents of police and CRPF troopers have been deployed at sensitive locations to thwart any protests, said an official.
