Shopian: Militants have reportedly fired upon the police vehicle in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The incident occurred at Hajipora area of the district.
Reports said that police vehicles on way to Shopian were attacked by militants. SSP Shopian was present in the vehicle when it was fired upon.
Reports added that escort of SSP retaliated after exchange of fire, militants managed to escape from the spot.
A police official while confirming the incident that the bullet proof vehicle received couple of bullets even some of them hit the windscreen.
Government Forces shortly after the attack launched a cordon and search operation.
