New Delhi: The family of Hizb chief Syed Salahuddin on Wednesday said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was “harassing” them to put pressure on their father.
He said the agency was issuing summons and “interrogating” the family members to “put pressure” on Syed Salahuddin.
Another son of the Hizb chief, Syed Shahid Yousuf, is in NIA custody since October last year.
“Shahid has been arrested in a fabricated case. The only motive behind detaining him is to pressurize our father in submission,” said another family member.
Earlier in the day, the NIA questioned six people, including the eldest son of Salahuddin, in connection with a 2011 funding case. Shakeel Yusuf, who works as a medical assistant at Srinagar’s Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, appeared before the agency along with five others, they said.
