Jammu: Balwant Thakur, Regional Director,Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) J&K and Director Natrang, called on Governor N. N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here Tuesday.
Thakur apprised the Governor about the recent activities undertaken by the ICCR Regional Branch Jammu and the dramatic performances staged by the Natrang Group with a particular focus on the preservation and promotion of the traditional art forms of the Jammu region.
Complimenting Thakur for his continuing contribution towards strengthening theatre activities in the State, Governor pointed to the usefulness of enlarging the performance of street plays which disseminate powerful social messages and highlight the problems of the common masses.
