Dir Agriculture(K) flags off farmers for Inter State exposure visit

Jammu: Group of 88 farmers from different districts of Jammu Division was flagged off by Director Agriculture Jammu H. K. Razdan for an Exposure Visit outside the state from the Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Jammu Monday. The training program is being organized by the Farmers Training Centre Jammu under Sub-Mission on Agriculture Extension (SMAE) of Centrally Sponsored Scheme: National Mission For Agriculture Extension Technology (NMAET-ATMA) w.e.f 12.03.2018 to 18.03.2018.
Razdan while interacting with the farmers on the occasion said the program has been organized for acquainting the farmers with modern techniques for Commercial Agriculture, emerging trends in organic farming and cultivation of different agricultural crops on scientific lines. He impressed upon the farmers to interact with the farm scientists, experts and extension functionaries to get up to date methodology in cultivation of crops on scientific lines. He asked the farmers to enhance their technical skills in the field of Integrated Farming and to adopt the advanced technology for cultivation of cereal food crops, vegetables, Mushrooms and other agricultural crops after learning from such Trainings/Exposure Visit.
Giving details of the seven days tour program Deputy Director of Agriculture( Trainings) Jammu Sunil Koul said the group of 88 farmers from Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch ,Doda and other Districts will attend 6 days training during which the farmers will visit Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Oil Seeds Research Station at Kangra and Agriculture Museum of CSK HP Krishi Vishvavidalaya Palampur, Organic Farming, Drip Irrigation, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Amritsar, All India Pingalwara Charitable Society Pingalwara, Centre For Excellence in vegetable Kartarpur, KVK Jullander, Central Potato Research Station, Badshahpur, Ludhiana. Farmers will also visit and see the advanced agricultural technology at Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana.
Joint Director Agriculture (SLUB) Bulesh Zutshi, Joint Director Agriculture( Inputs) K. S. Sambyal, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) R. L. Bhagat, Joint Director of Agriculture, Deepak Kuchroo Deputy Director Agriculture (Central) C. M. Sharma, DSSO Jammu, S Malvinder Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer, Doda Sunil Koul, other senior officers and field functionaries of the Department were also present on the occasion.
