Bali reviews status of ongoing augmentation projects for Jammu hospitals

Jammu: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat convened a meeting to review the status of all ongoing works initiated for augmenting medicare infra in the hospitals of Jammu region here Monday.

During the meeting, the Minister took a detailed assessment of various activities currently going on in order to provide better health care facilities to the patients.

Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Principal GMC, Jammu, Dr. Sunanda Raina, Director Finance, H&ME, Mohammad Rafiq, Joint Director Planning (H&ME), Madan Lal and other officers of the concerned departments along with officers of the executing agencies attended the meeting.

A threadbare discussion was held on several agendas viz-a-viz release of funds, expenditure and physical status of work. The meeting was informed about the progress being made on the ongoing works related to upgradation of infrastructure in hospitals including construction, renovation and beautification works. The Minister asked the functionaries of the health department to work in a synchronized manner with the executing agencies to ensure the timely completion of the works.

Having a detailed assessment of the DPR’s of various projects, the Minister directed for deputing a liaison officer for the projects and asked the concerned to adopt a pragmatic approach to reduce operational and maintenance cost of the machinery.

Stressing on optimal utilization of resources, the Minister directed the senior functionaries to personally monitor the ongoing work to ensure the adherence of quality nor

The Minister asked the concerned officers to start pilot projects to try new technology to check their future implications to further improve the healthcare available to the public.

Discussion was also held on various agendas related to strengthening the man power, requirement of technical staff for various allied works.

On account of the upcoming summer season, the Minister directed the concerned to take up repair and maintenance works for air conditioners to provide a suitable environment to the patients. He also asked concerned officers to engage adequate man power to ensure uninterrupted functioning of Gas plants and gas pipelines, Sewerage plant, lifts and many alike and further instructed to fill the vacant posts and utilize the outsourcing services as per the requirements. He directed to ensure the color-coded uniforms with name plates for easy identification of the staff.

Bali Bhagat also asked the concerned to prepare DPR for water pipelines project to supply water directly to wards in GMC. The Minister also passed on directions to clear all the pending dues in a set time frame.

He further stressed on providing clean drinking water along with uninterrupted power supply and hygienic sanitation facility.

Taking strong note of negligence, the Minister said strict action will be taken against the erring officers.

The meeting also proposed the establishment of dedicated fire station in hospitals vicinity.
