Kulgam: Militants have reportedly owned the attack on a civilian in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district claiming that the said youth has gone ‘astray’ and was ‘involved in anti-movement activities’.
Police on Thursday night said that one Omais Rashid Bhat of Qaimoh aged about 20 years was abducted by some unknown persons from his native village Qaimoh during evening hours with intention to kill him. He was then thrown away at Ves Batpora area in almost unconscious state and later on referred to Srinagar hospital for treatment.
On Friday in a couple of Qaimou mosques, the clerics read out a letter purportedly written by militants owning the attack on the said youth.
The militants in their letter have claimed that they thrashed the said youth for his alleged anti-movement activities. “We warn all those who are involved in dubious activities,” the letter reads.
