Jammu: Fulfilling his commitment with the Bar Association Jammu (BAJ), which he made just a few days ago during his visit to High Court Complex, Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat launched the execution work of Primary Health Centre building in the High Court premises here Friday.

The building will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.56 crore by the JKPCC during the 2018-19 financial year.

Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister said it is endeavour of the Government to strengthen the health infrastructure along with diagnostic facilities in every nook and corner of the State, for which several initiatives have been taken. He said High Court is the largely visited place, where necessary diagnostic facilities along with adequate staff will be ensured to cater to the increased work load during the past some years.

He called upon the engineers to ensure the quality of work strictly as per the laid down norms and specifications and completing the project in a time bound manner in view of the urgency.

Senior Advocate and President, Bar Association Jammu (BAJ), B.S. Slathia expressed gratitude to the Minster for keeping his word for early starting the work of building on the identified space where the foundation was laid by some senior judges of J&K High Court during 2012. He hoped that with the construction of PHC building, the visitors including, Advocates, Members of Judiciary, staff and clients will be able to avail the benefits of improved healthcare facilities here.

It may be mentioned that the Health Minister had visited the High Court Complex in the last week of February, 2018 to take stock of the medicare facilities in the Government Dispensary, during which the BAJ had raised the issue of strengthening the infrastructure, including construction of building for which the foundation stone stands laid in 2012. The Minister had assured to examine the demand on priority and issued on-the-spot instructions to the authorities to formulate a DPR according to the present need.

On reaching the High Court Complex, a large number of advocates and office bearers of BAJ including, Sachin Gupta, Vice President, Prem N. Sadhotra, General Secretary, Himanshu Sharma, Joint Secretary, Chetan Misri, Treasurer, R.P. Sharma welcomed the Minister.
