Jammu: To discuss issues related to the publication of ‘J&K Higher Education Trends’ (News Letter) and multi-disciplinary research journals of Higher Education department, Principal Secretary HED Dr Asgar Samoon, Monday chaired a meeting of the members of various editorial boards here at his office chambers.
The board members, mostly the faculty from state colleges, participated in the meeting and formulated the future course of action for publication and promotion of quality research among the students, young scholars and serving faculty in the universities and colleges of the state.
Dr Samoon said the prime aim of the journals is to provide an intellectual platform to the teachers, students so that they are able to project their work on international forum. He added that overarching objective would be to open up alternative horizons, to promote engagement with a broader spread of disciplinary and interdisciplinary, to promote theoretical and conceptual innovation and provide a venue for the emergence of new concepts and perspectives that benefit the potential readers as well as the actual teaching practices in colleges. “With this aim, the journals would cover all topics related to specific disciplines within a dynamic setting that embraces the globalized context of various subjects- which forms the basic vision and mission of the Higher Education Department” he added.
