Kathmandu: A fire destroyed 30 houses at Gharbana settlement in Nepal’s Humla district.
The blaze, which broke out at a house at around 1130 hrs on Friday and quickly spread in the settlement, was doused by security personnel and locals, a report published in Kathmandu Post said on Sunday.
There were no human casualties, police said.
More than 160 domesticated animals were killed in the inferno, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kamal Nepal, said.
Preliminary police report showed that properties worth around Rs 15 million were destroyed in the fire.
The incident site is in a remote part in the district. It takes about four-day walk from Simikot, the district headquarters of Humla.
