Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir State Assembly speaker and senior BJP leader Kavinder Gupta has issued a show cause notice to NC legislator Mohammad Akbar Lone for raising pro-Pakistan slogan in the House during Budget session in backdrop of the militant attack on Sunjwan army station in Jammu city on 10th February 2018.
“The breach of privilege notice to Akbar Lone has been issued on behalf of the Speaker by Legislative Assembly’s Additional Secretary, Manzoor Ahmad Baba vide letter No. LA: 204/PS/Legn/2018 dated February 26,” confirms an official. Mohammad Akbar Lone, who has served as Speaker, Minister and Deputy Speaker, has been given seven days to give his comments for perusal.
Tough the National Conference distanced themselves from the remarks of Mohammad Akbar Lone who even admitted outside the Assembly that he had shouted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan but maintained that it was in reaction to the Speaker’s remarks on Rohingyas and Bangladeshis linking them with the Sunjwan attack. Earlier BJP MLAs created a ruckus in the house as they demanded registration of an FIR against NC legislator Mohammad Akbar Lone for raising pro-Pakistan slogan.
