New Delhi: The incarcerated chief of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) Shabir Shah has revealed before the Patiala House Court Delhi that medical staff in Delhi mocks him for demanding freedom from India putting his life in danger.
Shabir Shah was brought to a court in Delhi yesterday where he told the judge, Sidharath Sherma “whenever I am taken to any hospital for checkup, the health authorities ask me sarcastic questions that I am the person who wants azadi, I want freedom from India etc.” Shabir Shah stressed the court that he may be provided medical facilities as he is suffering from multiple life risking ailments.
Expressing deep and serious concern over the continuously deteriorating health of Shabir Shah, his family has stressed the governments in New Delhi and Jammu Kashmir to take practical measures for providing suitable medical facilities to the ailing leader. “Instead of treating him, the doctors are passing objectionable remarks against him which is totally against medical ethics,” the family of the ailing leader said.
The family of Shabir Shah has been continuously filing applications in the Patiala court regarding his medical care as he is suffering from multiple life risking ailments. The medicines which Shah has been prescribed by the super specialists of Fortis Delhi and SKIMS Soura Srinagar are not available in the Tihar jail hospital dispensary.
Shabir Shah’s case was heard at Patiala House court on Monday after a gap of one and half month. As usual no witness appeared in the court and so the case was once again listed for another date on 16th march 2018.
Pertinently, there is absolutely no progress in the case since the so called chargesheet was filed against Shabir Shah some five months back. Since then only dates are being fixed by the court just because the witnesses of ED do not appear in the court thereby prolonging the illegal detention of Shabir Shah.
These tactics are being repeated only to break the political will of Shabir Shah who has spent more than half of his life in different jails for advocating just cause of freedom. New Delhi could not break the will of Shabir Shah nor could it crush the ongoing freedom struggle of Kashmiris so it is better for India to read the writing on wall and take concrete measures to resolve the long standing Kashmir dispute.
