Jammu: Indian and Pakistani armies on Tuesday morning exchanged shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said heavy cross-border firing started at about 08:45am this morning from Pakistan side of the LoC.
“The Pakistan Army initiated an unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortar bombs from 0850 hours Tuesday in the Bhimbher Gali (BG) sector along the LoC,” an army official said.
“The Pakistani troops also resorted to shelling of mortars along the LoC in the Manjakote, Niaka Panjgrian, Lambi Bari and Balakote villages,” he said,
Some structures including cattle shed also got damaged in shelling with injuries to some cattles also, an eye witness said.
The schools in the affected areas in Rajouri district were closed as a precautionary measure
