Jammu: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta Tuesday inaugurated lane and deep drain at Lower GadhiGarh, the works for which have been executed by Rural Development Department.
The funds for this project were provided by the Speaker from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said with construction of this deep drain in the area, the people will get respite from the problems being faced by them, particularly in the rainy season. He said this was a long pending demand of the area which has been fulfilled Tuesday.
The Speaker also interacted with the locals and listened to area’s developmental issues. He said the government has launched several development works to improve the overall condition of lanes and drains, link roads, and other amenities in neglected areas in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
Kavinder Gupta asked locals to identify developmental needs of their respective areas so that the works can be enlisted for execution by the Government on priority. He assured that all pending development works in the area including macadamization of inner roads, repairing and construction of lanes and drains and other development works of the area would be fulfilled in a phase manner.
He further assured that no compromises will be made on quality of construction works and in this regard the government has issued directions to concerned authorities and contractors to adhere to the defined nor He said regular monitoring is also being done to ensure no lapses.
He also stressed upon locals to avail benefits under various flagship welfare schemes and programs launched by the state and central governments.
Among others, Block Development Officer, Satwari, Shahid Mughal, prominent citizens, a larger number of people and senior officers of concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
