DG Prisons Dilbagh Singh reviews security of prisons

Srinagar: Director General of Police, Prisons Dilbag Singh visited Kashmir capital Srinagar to take stock of situation and made his maiden visit to District Jail Anantnag alongwith DIG Prisons, Dr. Muhammad Sultan Lone; SSP Anantnag, Altaf Khan; Commandant CRPF Bn. Amit Kumar besides other officers.
This was the first visit of DGP Prisons to any of the Jails in Kashmir Province since his taking over as Head of J&K Prisons Department.
During the visit, issues regarding security, management, and infrastructure were discussed and to be improved wherever required.
DGP Prisons also interacted with the inmates while making a detailed round of inside and outside premises of the Institution and issued on-spot necessary instructions to address the genuine problems.
DGP Prisons also paid a visit to Special Jail (Correctional Home) Pulwama to get familiarized with the institution, its working, and security as well as infrastructure requirements viz-a-viz gadgetry up-gradation.
In Special Jail Pulwama high level security review meeting was also attended by DIG Police South Kashmir Range, Amit Kumar IPS; SSP Pulwama Muhammad Aslam, Addl. SP Pulwama, Chandan Kohli, Dy SP Operation Zaheer Abbass, Dy SP Security IRP 18th Bn, Fahim Ali , besides DIG Prisons and other officers.
At both the locations Anantnag/Pulwama, the DGP Prisons instructed the Superintendent Jails to follow the security protocol and strictly adhere to the security procedures.
