J&K youth inseparable part of country : Rajnath

New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday met the students from Jammu and Kashmir and said that they are an inseparable part of the country.
The students were in the capital during their visit to different places of the country under the ‘Watan ko Jano’ Youth Exchange programme of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
‘The children might have read about and seen the places in their text books, now they have the opportunity to see these places’, Mr Singh said.
Wishing them a prosperous future, the Home Minister urged the youth to share their experiences with their friends and relatives when they get back and also spread the message of unity.
Mr Singh said that the youth of the country should be aware of the socio-economic developments happening in the country and understand the importance of unity in the process of development.
The Home Minister expressed happiness over the fact that 500 more students will be a part of the next such tour and said that unity in diversity is the unique value of the country and these children are also a reflection of it.
Minister of State for Personnel and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh and MoS Home Kiren Rijiju also interacted with the children.
They urged the youth to spread the message of peace on returning home after their visit.
“Watan Ko Jano” is an initiative to give exposure to the youth and children of Jammu and Kashmir about the cultural and socio-economic development taking place in other parts of the country.
Youth and children hit by militancy and from weaker sections of the society have been identified for the purpose.
Around 200 youth from Jammu and Kashmir are on a visit to different places in the country between February 11 to 20.
