Srinagar: The Department of Floriculture Saturday organized a five-day long training program on commercial floriculture for the progressive flower growers of the district Srinagar.
The training program was inaugurated by Director Floriculture, Kashmir in which multiple lectures were delivered to growers.
Deputy Director Floriculture, Kashmir, Floriculture Officer District Srinagar and Assistant Floriculture Officer, Commercial, Srinagar were among others present in the program.
During the program, experts delivered lectures on different aspects of floriculture. The growers were informed about the latest technological interventions which they can apply in their flower business ventures and can boost their production.
The growers were informed about the soil health, disease management and marketing strategies, in addition to the latest techniques for growing quality flowers. The trainees were informed about the potential of floriculture in Kashmir and need to plan and run their units on scientific lines.
