Srinagar: Kashmir legislator along with his supporters set the cricket kit on fire to protest against the erection of army camp at Jablipora Cricket ground in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Rasheed along with supporters arrived in press enclave Srinagar and set the leg-guard and a cricket bat on fire. The protesters were carrying placards demanding demilitarization and removal of army camp at Jablipora.
“The cricket ground on which army has established a camp was the lone recreational place for the youth of the area. Renowned cricketer Parvez Rasool played on this ground and now Jammu Kashmir government has deprived youth from playing in that ground,” Rasheed said.
