Jammu: The annual two-day Red Cross Mela, being organized by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Jammu Region, would begin on February 17, 2018 at Police Gulshan Ground, Jammu.
Governor N. N. Vohra, would inaugurate the event.
This was informed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Hemant Kumar Sharma during a press conference held in this regard here Thursday.
“The objective of organizing the Red Cross Mela is to create awareness among the general masses regarding the functioning of Red Cross Society besides generating funds for welfare activities”, the Div Com asserted. He said to make the event more attractive, Inter District Group Dance/Singing Competition, cultural items, etc would also be organized during the mela besides stalls of ethnic food i.e dogri dishes, Wazan, Kashmiri Kehwa, fast food item will be put up by JKTDC and private parties.
Among others, Secretary Red Cross Society Dinesh Gupta, Joint Director Information Jammu Naresh Kumar, other representatives from Red Cross were also present on the occasion.
