Div Com(J) reviews Jammu Airport expansion

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma reviewed the progress on works being taken up for expansion of Jammu Airport in a meeting convened here Wednesday.

The meeting discussed various issues with regard to various concerned departments including ERA, PHE, PWD (R&B), S&O PDD Wing Jammu, Irrigation and Flood Control, EM&RE Wing Jammu, UEED besides other  concerned departments.

Divisional Commissioner was apprised that various works related to PWD (R&B) including construction of alternate road connecting Nikki Tawi via Belicharana,  Construction of RCC Compound Wall, Santry posts and guard rooms, generator room and toilet block at Sunjwan, Jammu and Re-construction /Recreation of Army structures/assets at Satwari in lieu of Army structure at Airport have already been completed.

It was further informed that  works related to EM&RE Wing like shifting of MES utilities 11 KV Line and laying of underground double circuit 240 mm sq 11 KV XLPE Cable is also completed and not commissioned due to incompletion of MES infrastructure.

The work of covering of Landoi Choi nallah in the airport area is in full progress and would be completed at the earliest besides construction of two bridges of 16 mtr clear span are in the process of allotment over the same nallah in Airport area.

The issues with regard to Animal Husbandry and other departments were also reviewed.

Hemant Kumar directed the officers to work with coordination and synergy to complete the works within stipulated time frame.

Among others, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Director ERA Abdul Majid,  Director Animal Husbandry Kewal Krishan, Chief Engineer I& FC Jammu K. K. Magotra, SE UEED Satinder Singh, SE M&RE  A. K. Sachdeva, SE S&D Cr. I Gurmeet Singh, XENs, besides other senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
