DFCO conducts surprise check of retail drug outlets, suspends 18 licenses

Jammu:Assistant Drugs Controller, Renuka Raina, along with Inspectorate Staff carried out surprise check of more than Fifty   Retail Sale Outlets situated in the district.

During the drive, Operations of Eighteen firms were disallowed on spot and licenses of the firms were suspended for committing breaches of the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 & rules there under. Statutory Drug samples of Fifteen formulations viz Antibiotics, PPI, Steroid, NSAIDs etc were taken up to check the identity, strength and purity of these drugs and were referred to State Drug Testing Laboratories for framing legal opinion to ascertain their quality parameters.

Lotika Khajuria, Controller, Drugs & Food Control Organization has impressed upon the Traders to strictly follow good Trade Practices in the larger patient interest.

The firms whose licenses were suspended included M/s Swami Medicate, Sarore Adda ; M/s Shiv Medical Hall, Sarore Adda; M/s Avighna Medicos, Near Railway Station ,Bari Brahmana, M/s Sant Rasila Health care, Nanke Chak, M/s Lakhotra Medical Hall, Nanke Chak, M/s K.C Medicate, Badheri; M/s K.H Medicate, Nud, M/s Lakshmi Medicate, Nud ; M/s Vikas Medicos,Daboh; M/s Shiva Medical Hall,.Samba, M/s Rekha Medical Hall,Barian, M/s Bhairvi Medicos, Barian, M/s Dayal Medicos, Vijaypur; M/s Rana Medicate,Sarna; M/s Ritvik Medicate, Bari Brahmana, M/s Raghu Medicate, Teli Basti Bari Brahmana ; M/s Malik Medical Hall, Bari Brahmana; M/s Sharma Medical Hall Bari Brahmana.
