Srinagar: A man was shot dead by unknown gunman in Charangam village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday, police said.
An official said that Muhammad Yousuf Rather alias Yousuf Nadeem of Sandipora village of Budgam was shot at by gunman when he was traveling in a passenger cab from Budgam to Beerwah. Reports said that Rather was shot in the head and back.
SSP Budgam Tejinder Singh confirmed the killing. He said the deceased was an employee of the Power Development Department.
He said Rather was affiliated with Hurriyat Conference.
