D&FCO disallows operations of 7 pharmacies, issues show cause notice to 13 firms in Pulwama

Pulwama: Drugs and Food Control Organization (D&FCO) Monday disallowed the operations of seven pharmacy shops in the district after the latter was found operating without services of approved competent staff and for non-availability of license.
According to the Controller, Drugs and Food Control Organization, J&K, the inspection was conducted as a part of a drive to eradicate the menace of drug addiction as also operation of chemist shops in violation to regulation.
During the checking, chemist shops M/s Shop of Mushtaq Ahmad, Opp PHC Ladoo Pampore, M/s Harmain Pharmacy,PatulBagh, Galandhar Pampore, M/s Adnan Pharmacy, Paul Bagh, Pampore, M/s Rightway Pharmacy, Galandhar, Pampore, M/s Shop of Shameem Ahmed Magray, Qasbayar, Shadimarg, Pulwama, M/s Shop of Rayees Ahmed Dar,Qasbayar, Shadimarg, Pulwama, and M/s Emaan Pharmacy, Pahoo, Pulwama were found operating without services of approved competent staff, and with non-availability of license.
The inspecting team, headed by Irfana Ahmad, Deputy Controller Drugs Kashmir Division along with Mohammad Younis-Assistant Controller Drugs (HQ) and Inspector of Drugs Reema Gazala and Sajad Ahmad Wani, disallowed the operations of the establishments on spot.
Show cause notices were also issued to 13 firms under the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules thereunder after observing that the units were violating regulations.
The firms included M/s Victorious Medical Agency Namblabal Pampore, M/s Drug Store PHC Ladoo Pampore, M/s New Friends Medicate Ladoo Pampore, M/s Seven Star Medical Agency Drangbal Pampore, M/s Healing touch Pharmacy Pampore, M/s Cooperative Medical Store Inside SDH pampore, M/s John Medicate, Kakapora Pulwama, M/s Drug Store PHC, Kakapora, Pulwama, M/s M.B. Traders, Saffron Shopping complex, Pampore, M/s Fam Medical agency, Drangbal Pampore, M/s Drugstore,NTPHC,Pinglana,Pulwama, M/s Drug Store CMO office Pulwama, and M/s Aurif medicate,Qasbayar, Shadimarg Pulwama.
15 legal samples of various drug formulations of categories including antibiotics, antihypertensive, anti-allergic and veterinary items were lifted for purpose of testing and analysis and referred to government analyst for an opinion with reference to quality.
