Jammu: The J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) released the margin money in favour of 413 units in Jammu Division including the amount of Rs. 821.47 lakhs as subsidy against the total target of 790 units during the current financial year 2017-18 under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP).
This was informed by the Secretary/CEO, KVIB Rashid A. Qadri during the PMEGP review meeting. He said these 431 units have further generated the employment opportunity for 1298 local youths.
Stressing upon the field functionaries to take into consideration the managerial capability of an entrepreneur before sponsoring a PMEGP case, Rashid Qadri asserted that the KVIB Officers should provide hand holding to the unit holders even after the establishment of the unit.
CEO said KVIB has sponsored five numbers of Clusters to the MSME Govt. of India, of which three clusters have been approved involving an amount of Rs. 1194.80 lakh and other two sponsored clusters are under process and 7 numbers of the clusters are in the pipeline. CEO exhorted upon the District Officers for formation of more Clusters under SFURTI program.
