Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday suspended Superintendent of Central Jail Srinagar after the escapade of LeT militant from SMHS Hospital in which two cops were killed in a shootout.
“Pending enquiry into the incident on 6 February, 2018, at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, leading to the death of the two constables and escape of a militant, Mr Hilal Ahmed Rather , Superintendent, Central Jail, Srinagar is hereby placed under suspension, with immediate effect,” a government order issued by Home Department’s Principal Secretary RK Goyal said.
“The officer shall remain attached with Director General of Police, Prisons, till further order,” the order read.
