Srinagar: Two days after his escape from police custody during a shootout at SMHS hospital, a picture of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Naveed Jat alias Abu Hanzallah has surfaced on the social media.
Naveed was arrested by government forces in Kulgam district in June 2014. On Tuesday, he managed to escape from the SMHS after he was brought there for a medical check-up.
Naveed and Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Saddam Padder from Shopian were seen together in a photo, carrying AK-47 rifles.
The photo in which both are seen wearing a smile and giving thumbs-up has gone viral on social media.
“After the picture surfaced on social media, we have started verifying it,” said a senior police official.
