DDC reviews implementation of CM’s commitments in Kulgam

Kulgam:  The District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, Talat Parvez Rohella Friday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the directions passed by the Chief Minister during the public meet on 25th of November, 2017. He also reviewed the achivements under the CAPEX budget.

It was informed that Rs 134 crores is the approved outlay of the district for the year 2017-18 and against availability of Rs 84.60 crores an expenditure of Rs 63 crores has been made registering  an achievement  of  75%.

The District Development Commissioner was apprised that 329 directions were passed in the public meet out of which 40 directions have been implemented and rest works have been taken up..

The DDC sought sector-wise feedback from the concerned officers and directed them to complete them as per the targets fixed by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir. The meeting was told that various monitoring committees and teams have been constituted who have been directed to physically inspect different works taken up for the implementation of the CM directions.

While reviewing the directions passed in PHE sector, the chair was informed that the department has taken up 15 out of 33 filtration plants for revamping and making them functional. So far, 10 filtration plants have been made functional and work on rest 5 is going on.

Besides, the concerned Exens apprised him that work on WSS Yaripora shall be completed by May, 2018 which shall be catering to a population of 4030 souls.  Besides, the work on WSS Pachgam Nad-Kraloo, Kanchloo, WSS Waltengoo-Razloo and WSS Manigam is going on in full swing and shall be completed soon. Besides, work on filtration plants at Kelam and Yaripora and Yemrach-Daderkote are in last stage of completion.

With regard to the I&FC, the chair was informed that work on 25 of the 33 identified vulnerable spots have been started.  Besides, he directed them to expedite the repairment/dredging work on all the 6 major irrigation canals namely Banimulla, Gramtu, Mav, Sonman, Nandi and Noorabad canal.

While reviewing the R&B sector, the meeting was informed that work on YK Pora-Nagras road, Hakradan motorable bridge have been taken up while as DPR formulation in respect of Brinal Lamar-Bonigam road, 2-laning of Wanpoh-Aharbal road, Levdoora-Y.K Pora-Nagras-Razloo, auditorium at district level, additional block of HS Waltengoo, Nowbug-Wasaknag road, and others have been formulated and send for administrative approval under different schemes.

The Exen JKPCC informed the meeting that work on Ashmuji-Gund bridge is going on and shall be completed by May, 2018. Besides, he informed that Wanpora-Shamsipora bridge has been completed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 7 crores and is ready for inauguration.

The EOs informed that street lamps have been installed at Devsar and Kulgam towns, besides, construction of toilet blocks at Kulgam town under SBM are under way.

Besides, the playfields have been developed at Qaimoh, Gulzarabad, Bonigam, Devsar and Kelam, apprised the concerned officers to the chair.

The DDC also reviewed the directions passed in respect of RDD, Education, Health, Tourism, YSS Department, Social Welfare and other  departments and directed the concerned officer to expedite the implementation of the directions passed by the Chief Minister.

The meeting was attended by, CPO, Principals of GDC Kulgam, Kelam and DH Pora, SE PDD, ACD, District Panchayat Officer, DySP Hqr, Exens of PHE, PDD, R&B, I&FC, JKPCC, PMGSY, District officers of Health, Education, Social Welfare, RDD, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry and other departments.
