Shopian: District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz Thursday flagged-off a group of 50 progressive farmers of the district for a training-cum-exposure tour under the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme.
The DDC was accompanied by Chief Agricultural Officer, District Agriculture Officer, and Extension Agriculture Officers besides other concerned.
The progressive farmers were selected from all agriculture zones of the district for the training program at SKUAST Kashmir. During the training program, the farmers will be imparted training on ‘Vegetable Nursery raising Under Protective Cultivation’, ‘Seed Production Technology in Fodder Crop Oats’ and Vermi Compositing.
Highlighting the need to organize such training programs and awareness camps on regular basis, the DDC stressed for transfer of technology from lab to land and updating farmers about advancements in the field of Agriculture.
Farmers were encouraged to avail maximum benefit from this training program and adopt the practices in the field for boosting the agriculture production.
