Altaf Bukhari inaugurates library, lab at GGHSS Mubarak Mandi

Jammu: Minister for Education, Syed  Altaf Bukhari Monday inaugurated a  Library and Chemistry Lab at Govt Girls Hr Sec. School Mubarak Mandi and also attended the Annual Day Function.

Minister of State for Education and Tourism, Priya Sethi, MLA Rajesh Gupta, Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director School Education (Kashmir) G. N. Itoo, Director School Education (Jammu) S. Ravinder Singh, CEO Jammu and other senior officials of the department were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Altaf Bukhari said girl education and empowerment is the foundation stone of a strong nation and those nations that consolidated their education mechanism have excelled in every field.

The Minister also hailed the contribution of the Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi in keeping the light of education beaming especially of girl students and urged the students to work hard to achieve their goals besides contributing in the development of the nation. He also urged the students to come forward to avail the benefits of various welfare schemes in education sector. He said every possible step is being taken by the government to ensure that every child is provided  quality education.

Minster maintained that the present dispensation is focussed for the up-gradation of infrastructure in all government schools besides providing quality education. On the occasion minister announced the construction of school auditorium and computers for the school and assured requisite  steps for infrastructure development.

He said with an aim to inform the students about the rich cultural heritage  of the state the government intends to organise cultural exchange programs within the state so that the students  come to know about the diversity of their state with regard to different cultures, languages, religion and climate.

The Minister appreciated the performances of the students and said such functions provide a platform to students where they can showcase their talent and also highlight issues confronting them.

Minister of State for Education Priya Sethi, while speaking on the occasion, reiterated governments’ commitment to ensure quality education to the girl child. She said the state and central government have launched numerous welfare schemes including the Ladli Beti and ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao for the welfare of girl child and urged the people to avail the benefit of these schemes to empower the women of the state ’.

She urged the girl students to take keen interest in studies besides taking part in co-curricular activities for their overall development.

MLA Rajesh Gupta on the occasion announced a grant of Rs 60 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the up-gradation of infrastructure in the school.

On the occasion the students, presented various cultural and theme based performances.
