Baramulla: Mobile internet service has been restored in north Kashmir on Sunday morning after remaining suspended for about 12 hours.
The mobile internet service of all Cellular companies, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was suspended last night to prevent spread of rumours following reports about Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched by security forces in the frontier district of Kupwara.
However, the mobile internet service has been restored in the north Kashmir, including Kupwara, Baramulla and Sopore, official sources said.
There was a report that PhD scholar turned militant Manan Wani was trapped in a village Tekipora, Lolab, where security forces had launched a CASO last night.
Former Chief minister and National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah also tweeted urging Manan to lay down arms.
In a tweet last night Mr Abdullah said ““ I hope better sense prevails on Manan & he lays down his weapons. Better the chance of rehabilitation than a violent end to this cordon”.
He reacted to a report that “ PhD scholar tuned Hizbul militant Manan Wani trapped in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara, forces cordon off entire area”.
