Pulwama/Feb,4: Clashes erupted Sunday morning in Murran areas in Pulwama district of South Kashmir soon after government forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation.
Witnesses said that a joint party of army and police cordoned off Bonpora area of Murran after inputs about the presence of militants in the area.Few gunshots were heard as well when the cordon was being laid, they said.
However, youth took to streets and staged protests, in a bid to help the militants escape from the cordoned area.
Forces fired several teargas shells to disperse the protesters.Two youths were reported to have sustained minor injuries while four youths were detained by the police.
