Jammu: Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta Saturday attended the 27th Annual Day function of Maharishi Vidya Senior Secondary School Jammu.
Among others present were MLC Vikram Randhawa, Director Radio Kashmir Jammu, Anjali Sharma, Director Rajya Sainik Board J&K, Brig Harcharan Singh and Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu/Member BCCI, Rajeev Kalra.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta, appreciated the efforts of the school in imparting quality education besides promoting extra-curricular activities among the students. He said students are the nation builders and they must be educated with focus on overall personality development to shape them into a responsible citizen.
The Speaker appealed the parents and teachers to ensure a strong coordination to give better education to the children. He said government has initiated several steps for promoting education standards at all levels besides augmenting school infrastructure.
He said special attention is being paid on systematically introducing new technologies in schools to make learning process simpler for students.
On the occasion, Principal of the school Reeta Sharma highlighted the achievements of the school.
A colorful cultural bonanza was also presented by the students besides prizes were distributed among the meritorious students.
