Reasi: Fisheries Department organized one day training program for farmers at Fish Farm Anji, here Thursday.
The program was organized under Centrally Sponsored Scheme “State Extension Program for Extension Reforms ATMA Sub-Mission on Agriculture Extension (SAME) 2017-18.
During the program, the farmers were given practical training by Bharat Bushan Assistant Director Fisheries on various aspects of modern fish culture viz-a-viz; grow-out pond management including application of organic and inorganic fertilizer, stocking density of fishes, artificial feeding, disease control and periodic netting for better results and production.
Farmers were also apprised of other schemes being implemented by the Department like Welfare of Fishermen, RKVY, Blue Revolution etc.
The program was attended by 125 farmers drawn from various parts of the district.
