Pulwa, Shopian shut against killing of civilians in army firing for 8th consecutive day

Srinagar/Feb,1: Shopian and Pulwama districts observed complete shutdown for 8th consecutive day against the killing of civilians in army firing in Gownpora village of Shopian district last week.

All shops, business establishments, government and private offices remained closed in these districts while public and private transport was off the roads.

An official said that contingents of forces were deployed at sensitive locations in the districts to maintain law and order.

Mobile Internet service in both Pulwama and Shopian districts remained suspended for the ninth consecutive day.
