Jammu: Dr. Jitendra Udhampuri, an eminent poet and writer called on Governor N.N. Vohra and presented his book “Duggar Sanskriti- Vishleshanatamak Adhayan” at the Raj Bhavan here Tuesday.
This book in Dogri language presents an all encompassing view of the culture of Dogras and highlights the diversity of the geographical, historical and cultural landscape of the entire region which lies between river Ravi to Jhelum on one side and from the end of the plains of Punjab to the mountain ranges of Pirpanjal on the other side.
Observing that Dr. Udhampuri was the most versatile and productive author in three languages the Governor lauded his invaluable commitment and contribution to the enrichment of Dogri literature. Governor observed that the book will serve as a valuable ready reference for students, scholars and the general readers and wished Dr. Udhampuri continuing successes in his future literary endeavours.
