Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Hemant Kumar Sharma Saturday convened a high level meeting to finalize the arrangements for Beating Retreat to be held at MA Stadium on January 29.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, Commissioner JMC, Ramesh Kumar, Wing Commander Vivek Singh, Director Health Jammu, Dr. Gurjeet Singh, Director School Education, Ravinder Singh, Chief Engineer PDD, Ashwani Gupta, MD SRTC, Mir Afroz, SSP Security, Ashok Sharma, SSP Traffic, Nisha Nattyal besides senior officers from, Sports Council, Youth Services & Sports, Fire and Emergency Services, Hospitality and Protocol, JKSRTC, JKAACL, State Motor Garages, etc.
Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon all agencies to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for Beating Retreat function.
He said that the entry for the function is open to everyone and appealed public to reach the venue to enjoy the colourful event in large numbers. The function will be marked by band display comprising brass and pipe bands of Army and J&K Police.
Divisional Commissioner issued specific instructions for smooth conduct of the Beating Retreat function and directed Police and Traffic Departments to ensure adequate arrangements of security and smooth flow of traffic. The Youth Services and Sports and Education Departments were asked to ensure maximum participation of school children in the ceremony.
