Zulfkar dedicates BBBP library to girl students

Rajouri: The Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali Friday dedicated library established under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ initiative to the girl students of the district in presence of MLA Qammar Hussain Chowdhary, DDC Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Director FCS&CA, R A Inqlabi, ACD Noor Alam, DSWO Dr Abdul Khabir, Dy Registrar Cooperatives Waqar Talib and other district officers.

First of its kind in the district, the library has been established by pooling resources from Rural Development and Social Welfare Departments under Beti Bachao, Beti Padao initiative. The computer lab is equipped with internet facility, reading rooms and recreational hall with provision of 2000 books apart from 45000 books available online. Besides, latest material of various competitive examinations has also been made available in the library. Around 200 girls, mostly from BPL families will be enrolled by the management to avail the facility of library. These girls will be provide coaching and counselling  by experts for various state and central level competitive exa

After inaugurating the library, the Minister said the effort of establishing a library exclusively for girl students will go a long way in empowering them and help them realize their drea Terming libraries as an integral part of education system and gateway of knowledge, he said there was immense need of such a facility in the District.

Lauding the efforts of district administration in transforming the need into reality, he said the library will provide the necessary platform, a proper space to girls where they could explore, acquire knowledge and develop their views and connect to the larger world.

Highlighting the importance of library he further added that nothing can replace the pleasure of book reading in the thoughtful ambiance and environment that the library provides and insisted upon the students to make the best possible use of this institution.

He further advised the girl students to pursue their education with greater vigour and perseverance and make use of available opportunities to achieve their goals.
