Jammu: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, who is also the President of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council on Thursday approved conferment of Sher I Kashmir Sports Awards for outstanding sportspersons and Parshuram Awards for best coach for the period of 2013-14, 2015-15 and 2015-16. The applications were invited through open advertisement and in pursuance of the advertisement notifications, which were scrutinized by the award committee of the sports Council for further recommendation.
Pertinently, 10 outstanding sportspersons and 3 best coaches /instructors have already been selected for grant of Sher I Kashmir award and Parshuram Award for the period of 2012-13 as per pre revised rules by the then award committee.

Singh S/O Late Bakshish Singh R/O Sant Market Jammu with an award of Rs 20,000 and a medal as Gymnastic Coach, ShatuLal S/O Daya Ram Sharma R/O Billawar Kathua with an award of Rs 20,000 and a medal as Fencing Instructor and Mohd Iqbal S/O Gh Mohammad R/O Malpora Jamia Masjid Srinagar with an award of Rs 20,000 and a medal as Thang Ta Instructor.
